No, I am not reciting any menu people relax. These are the different names of Aval Paal a sweet dish that is made across various parts of the country for various occasions.
Aval Paal holds a special place and has a great significance in festivals such as Onam and Kirisha Astami. Let's get working on our sweet beverage.
Total Cook Time - 15 mins - Serves - 2
Requirements:
Thick Poha - 1 cup
Milk - 3/4 cup (boiled and warm)
Sugar - 2 1/2 tbsp (or as per your preference)
Coconut - 2tbsp
Cardamom Powder - A pinch
Butter - 1tbsp
Cashews - As per your preference
Rasins - As per your preference
Water - As per requirement
How to Stir?
1. Take a bowl and add thick poha to it along with the water making sure that the poha is all soaked.
2. Soak the poha until it is soft and make sure it is not mushy. Usually it takes about 5- 10 mins depending on the thickness of the poha.
3. Rinse it about a couple times and drain out the water completely.
4. Add coconut and sugar to the poha bowl.
5. Before mixing well add cardamom powder. Give it a good mix.
6. Slowly add the butter and milk and mix all of it together.
7. Once all is mixed well top it with cashews and raisins and give it once last mix.
Your Aval Paal is ready. Pour it out into your desired severing container and start digging.
